Paint the Town Gold: A New Celebration of Trojan Spirit

 We listened, Girard—and we’re changing things up!

The Girard Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to introduce a refreshed Paint the Town Gold event. This community-wide initiative invites local businesses to show their Trojan spirit, celebrate community pride, and fill Girard with gold!

Paint the Town Gold will take place during the week of August 31, 2026. Participating businesses are encouraged to decorate their storefronts and workplaces with creative displays of Trojan pride.

The business decorating contest will be judged on Friday, September 4, 2026, and the winning business will be announced that evening at the Girard High School football game. All Girard businesses are encouraged to participate; however, only Girard Area Chamber of Commerce members will be eligible for judging.

This event will replace the Chamber’s traditional Paint the Town contest held during Homecoming week. Girard businesses are still encouraged to decorate and support the Trojans during Homecoming, but the Chamber will not hold a separate decorating contest or announce a Homecoming theme.
